Aaron & Dina Professional Photos

Back in October of 2009 we did the flowers for Aaron and Dina at the Monarch Club at Trilogy Central Coast in Nipomo.
Caroline & Daniel from Tiny Water Photography were generous enough to mail us a disc with some fantastic images they captured of our flowers! Enjoy!!

Thanks again Caroline & Daniel! They turned out great!
We really appreciate it! ~ Nicolette & Melinda

Faces of Festive Designs

Hey Everyone! We'd love you to meet Darci Malone- one of the new Faces of Festive Designs!

" At age fourteen I walked into my first floral design class at Paso Robles High School and my life was forever changed. In high school I competed in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) floral judging competition, and worked at my high school’s green house and floral shop. Since graduating from Paso Robles High School in 2008, I have been attending Cal Poly as a Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration major- with a concentration in Special Event Management. Since starting class at Cal Poly, I have joined the Floral Design Club and served as Treasurer for the 2009-2010 term and will be the club President for the 2010-2011 term. "

Hometown: Paso Robles, CA

Birthday: October 5, 1990

Role Models: My two biggest role models are my mom and my grandmother.

Favorite flowers: Peonies and Hydrangeas

Favorite Quote: “Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today” –James Dean

Favorite Looks: When choosing floral pieces I tend to be drawn towards arrangements that command attention through color, size, or technique.

Darci has a great eye for design, fabulous attention to detail, and is simply a joy to be around! Please help us in welcoming her to Festive Designs and the Central Coast wedding industry! We are so happy to have her on board!

Cal Poly Floral Design Class

As many of you, along with owning and operating Festive Designs, Melinda also teaches two floral design courses at Cal Poly- where she inspires future members of the industry on a daily basis! Melinda's Advanced Floral Design Class just completed their Final Exam designs and I thought I'd share them with you. For this project the students were paired up with a Cal Poly Art student and their cardboard sculpture. The floral design students were to create a design that complements the sculpture. These tag-team projects were then displayed in the Kennedy Library for the whole university to admire! Check out the immense amount of talent from these young students!

Edna Valley Vineyard

It was a sunny (yet windy) day in Edna Valley when Emily and Matthew became Mr. & Mrs.!! As always, we were honored to be a part of their special day! Enjoy....

The Bride's Bouquet
The Bridesmaid's Bouquet

The aisle clusters with peach stock, blue delphinium, green coffee berries, and a touch of rosemary.
The reception set-up
We created three different centerpieces for variety with some being more expensive, and some being less expensive to stretch the couple's budget!
The basket gardens are great because they can double as long-lasting "thank yous" for family or friends that played a large role in helping with your wedding!
The best part about these floating candle & petal arrangements is that they add a lot of romantic light- without adding a lot of cost! And did you notice the adorable wine cork table number holders? Perfect for a vineyard wedding!
Another beautiful creation from the ladies up at The Cakery in Templeton. And as usual- it is framed by the spectacular vineyard landscape that surrounds Edna Valley Vineyard. Breathtaking!
