Central Coast Wedding Professionals Bridal Faire!

Hi all! So we have something really fun to share with you today! On January 29th we participated in the CCWP's 17th Annual Wedding & Special Events Faire at the Embassy Suites in San Luis Obispo! It's a great opportunity for Brides, Grooms, and their posse to meet and chat with dozens of professional, local wedding vendors! We love chatting with brides, hearing about their ideas, answering their questions, and giving advice and referrals!
This year, Melinda was in Miami on business- so Nicolette & Shannon were in charge of manning the booth! We had a blast sharing the space with our friend Diana Lynn Carter of Carter House Productions! We were also lucky enough to have our friends from Amy Wellenkamp Photographers take some awesome shots of our booth! I have some of my own, lower quality pics that I might add on later if I'm not too embarrassed by them!

We noticed I was *unplanned* matching one of our bouquets and had the capture the memory! : )

Why there wasn't a blog post in all of October....

Hi all! I'm sorry for the lack of posting lately- so many distractions! (I'm tempted to blame Pinterest?) But I do have quite the post for you....my wedding! It was quite the production for the Festive Designs team as you can imagine! So planning that took up a lot of my time and energy...but we did some pretty cool things I'm excited to share with you! Plus I have to brag a bit about my AWESOME vendors!!

Our talented photographer was none other than Ashley of A. Blake Photography! She and her assistant were a joy to be around on our wedding day, and made everyone feel comfortable!

Our guys' classy suites were rented with the assistance of Jodi and her team at Bloom N Grow. They were so great with helping us gather everything, especially with our groomsmen who lived out of the country and couldn't be there to get measured!
Andrew's tie, my sash, our dad's ties, and the ring bearer's ties were all made with love by Tux & Tulle. They turned out amaaaazing!
Our spectacular venue was The Dana Powers Barn in Nipomo, Ca. Our guests were WOWED by the beautiful property...it was really the perfect place for us!
Instead of a photobooth, we opted to have our own suspended floral photo frame- it proved to be really fun for our guests to play around with!
The bridesmaids bouquets were full of fun texture and contrasting color!
I think we're a pretty cute bunch eh?

If you think we look pretty, it's all thanks to the wonderful gals at Kim & Co. Salon! They did our hair and makeup and started our day off on a wonderful note! Beginning your special day in a calm, friendly, welcoming environment is super important!
I loved my bouquet- mom filled it with ostrich feathers, cotton, gardenias, tuberoses, stock, and roses- my favorites! Oh and of course a horse shoe charm for Irish good luck!

Each centerpiece was different at the reception...mostly because we couldn't stop shopping or make up our mind...and it turned out spectacularly!

Our linens, chairs, glassware and more were rented from the fine folks at Got You Covered in San Luis Obispo. Bless those people...they put up with me making like 15 changes to our rental order each time our plan changed! They were professional, educated, on time, and everything was in great condition! What more could you ask for? Not much. Love them!
This is one of my favorite shots!
For our parents' tables, we went with a stark contrast to the rest of the tables by having all of their table decor be all white and bling! We referred to them as the VIP tables! A great way to make them feel special on our big day!

Our fabulous programs, table numbers, and invitations we designed with the help of Taffy from All Traditions! She sat down with us and showed us all our options, we got proofs of our order and were able to make the necessary changes. She was also super helpful with making sure we were on point with our etiquette!
The theme I was going for with our wedding was Casablanca...kind of a Morocco meets Old Hollywood vibe. Our outdoor lounges were one way we drove this "look" home. A lot of it was our own furniture, but we also supplemented with some great pieces from Embellish! Her inventory will blow your mind, seriously!

We of course needed to give the bathrooms a little floral love.....

I LOVE the floral chandeliers we made to suspend over the VIP tables....so cute!

The ceremony decor. I made cameo silhouettes of each of us to hang on the bride's side and groom's side of the aisle.

I've never really been into big heavy wristlets....so we decided to go with a little vintage glamour by making feather brooch accessories for our moms and grandmas! I love them!
This glorious cake is a lovely creation by The Cakery. Not only was it freakin gorgeous- but it also tasted like heaven!

I got my dress from Down the Aisle in Arroyo Grande. The ladies there were a godsend! I didn't see my *perfect* dress on the racks, but their knowledge and expertise helped me create the perfect dress by letting me know all the different ways I could customize my order and ordering a sample swatch for me. I highly recommend them! Once my dress arrived, I had it professionally altered by Jennifer with Something Blue! She removed the irritating beads under my arms, sewed in cups to the dress, and so much more to make my dress truly my OWN! She is such a sweet person and a joy to be around!

I love this wall that my Godfather made for us. He's so darn handy! It was a great place to display photos of us, the girls' bouquets, and pashminas for guests to grab when they got chilly!
Our talented coordinator was Brenda Boorman and her team with A Heart to Heart Wedding Consultant. She did so many great things for us- she was our friend, advice source, conduit to our vendors, and so much more! During our photos something (I still don't know) flew up my dress and bit my leg. I started panicking because it stung! Suddenly, there's Brenda with water and some antihistamine. Really? Who does that? She does! I think the key to appreciating the value of a wedding planner is this: maybe you've attended a wedding with one in the past and thought to yourself "I don't know what she really did..." That's the point. All you saw was a fun, flawless event- that was her. No event goes 100% smoothly on its own, but if you don't notice anything, then rest assured- she was working her butt off behind the scenes! Get a coordinator ladies!!!

The beautiful uplighting was provided by Bailey Entertainment & Decor Lighting! I wanted a blanket of warm, amber light to surround the walls of the barn...making it feel cozy and glamorous! And sneaky little Dionne surprised us with including some dramatic purple lights to highlight the entrance! Va va voom!

Ah! The insanely yummy food you see here was JUST THAT thanks to Trumpet Vine Catering! It was all of my favorite foods...you really can't go wrong. And our guests agreed! My favorite part? I can't choose- it's a tie between our drop dead gorgeous buffet decor and the to-go pack of food Andrew & I got at the end of the night! Great late night snack!

Yes, this is us doing the robot. Your eyes are not deceiving you. Our loveable DJ Gy Ryder helped us pull of this awesome surprise for all our guests...and wedding party. A little bit of "our song" down, and we busted out into a silly choreographed number that was a lot of fun- and seriously tricked some people!

Although it's not here, you'll have to trust me that our wedding video from Fig Leaf Video is something that we'll treasure for the rest of our lives. People- get a videographer! It's worth every penny! Our whole day was like one big out of body experience- being able to relive it and see what went down while we were taking pictures is SO great!

Thought I'd throw in a pic of mother and I.....

That's all folks! Cheers! Hope you enjoyed it!
